Harry’s formative years were “Up South” during the Jim Crow era. The racial caste system that legitimized anti-Black racism was a daily lived experience. Despite the denial of fundamental human rights that this oppressive system imposed upon him, his family and the community he grew up in, his parents were community activists that infused into his soul the importance of resisting any and all forms of tyranny and injustice. And more importantly, the necessity of looking to the past and embracing the present to create a better future in the moment. A commitment to liberate oneself/community to a different, more human way of being.

The spirit of social justice and liberation sustained him during his years in college where, in undergraduate and graduate degree programs, it was de rigueur for professors to question the legitimacy of all students of the global majority to have seats at prestigious institutions of learning, like the ones Harry attended.

Inspite of this, Harry completed his studies in philosophy, economics, and advanced work in applied behavioral science, organizational transformation, systems engineering and, most importantly, future studies. All rigorously investigated through the lens of social justice, human rights, and liberation from social injustice around the world.

As a professor, he used a dialogical approach in which students were empowered to be “active agents” in their own education. This in lieu of engaging in an endless series of memory tests. Moreover, each person was encouraged to interrogate how her/his/their studies could be applied to the advancement of human rights.

Post his tenure in academia, Harry spent more than three decades as a trusted advisor and consultant to organizations of all sizes and across all industries globally. The primary focus of his work with organizational leaders was organization transformation, organization design, and strategic change.

These are the lived experiences, deep expertise, and passions Harry brings to his collaborations with Radical EQ clients. Multiyear engagements where clients are encouraged to think outrageously and provocatively to envision a better (democratized) future where just and compassionate organizations (and societies) are created and sustained in an interdependent world.
